How the baffles are meant to work

Baffle filters are not sieves. They are angled channels that force the air to turn sharply, so the heavier grease is thrown onto the metal and runs down to the grease cups at the back. Once the channels are coated or a cup is full, the grease has nowhere to go but down, and it lands on the grates in amber drops. A drip that built up gradually usually ends with a thorough clean, not a service call.

When it is not the filters

Grease that returns within days of a clean points past the baffles. Condensation in a cold duct can wash grease back down to the hood, so drips that come mixed with water on winter mornings belong with the duct. Before you book

Refit each filter with its lines running vertically and its knobs facing out, and each grease cup with the triangular cup toward the back and the lipped edge to the front.

Can Wolf hood baffle filters go in the dishwasher?

Yes. Wolf's Pro hood guide calls the filters, spacers and grease cups dishwasher safe once the heavy grease is wiped off.
