On the slope of Cougar Mountain
Talus is a 630-acre master-planned community on Cougar Mountain, at the western edge of the city, with homes and townhouses stepped up the hillside and more still being built. The kitchens are recent, the appliances are usually set flush into custom cabinetry, and access is by steep shared drives.
Two things follow. Getting a range out of its opening takes floor protection and a clear path, which we plan for on the phone. And a built-in unit that is scribed tight to its surround can hide the cause of a fault behind the trim.
The faults that show up here
Heat marks on a cabinet face above a wall oven, a hood liner rattling inside a decorative enclosure, a downdraft that no longer rises fully: these are installation-shaped problems as much as part failures. We read the fit — the cutout, the liner fixings, the chimney alignment — before quoting a component.
